Piano City Milan 2024
Piano City Milano will also make a stop at our university
270 live concerts spread over more than 150 locations scattered throughout the city of Milan: this is Piano City Milano 2024, the event that for three days transforms the city of Milan into a huge concert hall.
IULM will also be the scene of one of these events: on May 17 at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium, Antonio Alessandri, a very young and virtuoso Milanese talent, will perform. Born in 2006 and entering the Parma Conservatory at the age of seven, Alessandri continued his studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan under the guidance of Maestro Davide Cabassi. Among the prizes he received was the 2018 prize at the Italian Final of the Steinway Competition for Young Talents. In 2021/22, he made his debut at Milan's Teatro Dal Verme with the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali in the official season.
On Friday, May 17, Antonio Alessandri will play in our Auditorium:
S. Rachmaninoff, Études-Tableaux op. 33
F. Chopin, Études op.10
"Piano City has the merit of bringing great piano music throughout the city," comments Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala: streets, courtyards, libraries, museums and many unusual and unexpected places will again this year be the widespread theater of this extraordinary event.
Jazz, classical, world music, contemporary, pop, funk... The most diverse genres of music interpreted by a variety of Italian and international performers in a series of free concerts that enhance the polymorphous and varied qualities of the piano.
