Regulations for admission to the “Linguaskill” Test - Academic Year 2024/2025
These Regulations establish the rules for the admission of students to the Linguaskill test for the academic year 2024/2025.

What is Linguaskill?

Linguaskill is a globally recognised test that certifies English language proficiency. The test is based on artificial intelligence and adaptive technology and offers a quick and accurate assessment of English language skills from level B1 to level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Participants receive a certificate and a score report.

Who is it for?

The text is open to:

• students regularly enrolled for the academic year 2024/2025, in their current year or "fuori corso", in the Bachelor's degree courses of the Faculty of Arts, Fashion and Tourism and the Faculty of Communication who have passed the Professional English III / Professional English for Tourism III exam;

• students enrolled, for the academic year 2024/2025, in the first year, in their second year in or "fuori corso", in the Master's degree courses of the Faculty of Arts, Fashion and Tourism and the Faculty of Communication;

• students regularly enrolled, for the academic year 2024/2025, in their final year in or "fuori corso", in the degree courses of the Faculty of Interpreting and Translation, who may be interested;

• graduands in the third session of the academic year 2023/2024 (April 2025).

When and where is it held?

The next session is planned for the 28th of March, 2025.

The test will be held in Computer Room 661 (IULM 6, sixth floor).

Places available for each session

50 places available for the March 2025 session.

Test content and format

At this link, you can view the section of the Cambridge website relating to the format of the Linguaskill test. In particular, in this section it is possible to find practice material available for preparing the test.

How much does it cost?

The test has a cost of €180, which will be paid by the student at the time of enrolment, by accessing SCRIGNO Pago Facile at the following link (Access as "Anonymous user" > indicate "spontaneous payment" > select "Università IULM" as the institution, "test linguaskill" as the reason for payment, amount € 180, reason for payment NAME-SURNAME-STUDENT ID NUMBER-Linguaskill Test).

The sum may be partially reimbursed, on one occasion only, in the amount of €130 credited to the University Card (Carta d'Ateneo) of students who achieve an overall score of no less than 179 on the Cambridge English Scale (equivalent to a "full B2").

Students who do not achieve this result cannot be reimbursed even partially for the cost of the test.

The registration fee for the test cannot be refunded under any circumstances, including absence. Only in the event of a justified absence for serious and documented reasons may the test be taken at a later session with no extra cost.

How to enrol

Students wishing to take the test must enrol by filling in the form available at this link and pay the registration fee by the 21st of March, 2025. When filling in the form, students must declare that they meet the requirements for enrolment.
If the number of enrolments exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by the order of payment date.
If the test cannot be taken due to a lack of available places, any amount already paid will be refunded in full

Communication of results

The result is sent to the student by email within a few days of taking the test.
