NeuroNudge: IULM at the Researchers' Night Out
MEETmeTonight returns Sept. 25 and 26
On Sept. 26 and 27 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the European Researchers' Night, which will be held at the University of Milan, IULM with its Neuromarketing Research Center will also participate in the events. There are two activities planned for the Center's researchers. A multisensory workshop dedicated to children, scheduled for the afternoon of Sept. 26, and, during the day of Sept. 27, a series of meetings in one of the five thematic Pavilions that of "Adaptation to Climate Change" in order to present the research carried out on the theme of "NeuroNudge: The gentle nudges that can guide our food choices."
Workshop Playing with the Senses to Discover the World - Sept. 26, 2025 7:00-8:00 p.m. Aula 111 (University of Milan)
This is a sensory workshop designed for young children. Through scents, colors and association games, boys and girls learn to recognize objects, emotions and words... with their senses! A fun way to discover how the senses help us explore and understand the world. A workshop that offers multi-sensory and collaborative activities designed to stimulate curiosity and olfactory and tactile perception in children ages 5 to 10. The goal is for them to discover how senses influence our associations and emotions.

Meetings in the Adaptation to Climate Change thematic pavilion - 3 appointments throughout the day on September 27
NeuroNudge is an interactive experience that takes the audience inside a science experiment. The activity shows in an informative way how small sensory stimuli-such as an image, a smell, or a combination of both-can influence our daily decisions, even without us realizing it. Through this process, the audience will understand:
- the workings of so-called "gentle nudges", which are noninvasive but targeted interventions in the environment that can direct behavior;
- the crucial role of senses and emotions in decisions related to sustainability and health;
- the importance of choice architecture that encourages pro-environmental behavior, without imposing prohibitions or obligations.
The papers will be presented by Prof. Vincenzo Russo and the working group of the Neuromarketing Research Center "Behavior and Brain Lab IULM", composed of Dr. Mara Bellati, and doctoral students Simone Chiarelli, Simone Guida and Federica Piccoli.
