A concert and a workshop by Franco Mussida

Music - 22 October 2024 - Event date 14 November 2024

On November 14, Franco Mussida - guitarist of the legendary band Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM) - will be a guest at IULM with a workshop open to students and an experiential concert entitled "Il Pianeta della Musica e il Viaggio di Iòtu"

Never before had the theme of a concert been "Music" and the secrets of its universal language. Franco Mussida, among the founders of the legendary band Premiata Forneria Marconi, has done it. Mixing popular, classical languages with jazz elements, Mussida will stage in the Auditorium (IULM 6) the contents of his book "Il Pianeta della Musica e il Viaggio di Iòtu": a text that summarizes 35 years of research on the "mystery that transforms Music into emotions." A summary made up of instrumental pieces, songs, spoken moments and verbal messages thought of as being expressed by a child: "Iòtu." Song after song the child will take listeners by the hand, leading them on an introspective journey into the heart of the planet of affection.

"Il Pianeta della Musica e il Viaggio di Iòtu" " is thus an itinerary composed of 13 songs, one for each degree of the musical scale. A journey of tales that describe the affective landscape of each of us, associated with the ability of Music to show us. The musical excerpts are introduced by readings from Iòtu's logbook, and touch on topics concerning a generational past that had Music as a fundamental reference.

The concert will be held at 8 p.m. and is free and open to all citizens, subject to registration at this form.

Also on November 14, at 12 p.m. in Room 153, Franco Mussida will hold the workshop "The Real Experience of Music," open to all IULM students up to 100 seats.
