University of Milan and IULM University together: a new inter-university synergy in archaeology is born
A strategic agreement between the University of Milan and IULM University opens a new perspective on scientific and project collaboration dedicated to Archaeology. A cooperation that integrates different and complementary disciplinary skills - archaeological field research and heritage enhancement, communication and fruition - and that will generate joint projects, multimedia content and new forms of cultural dissemination.
The declaration of the agreement was made today, Monday, November 17, in the Aula Magna of Università Statale, as part of L'archeologia alla Statale, which opened with institutional greetings from the Rector of the Statale, professor Marina Brambilla and the Rector of IULM University, Professor Valentina Garavaglia, together with Marco Mancini, Secretary General, Ministry of University and Research , and with a video message by Francesca Caruso, Councillor for Culture, Lombardy Region.
In this setting the projects of ArcheoFrame, the Laboratory of Valorization and Communication of Archaeological Heritage born in 2007 at IULM University, conceived and directed by Professor Luca Peyronel, then our professor and now full professor at the Statale and delegate of Rector Brambilla to Research, Didactics and Third Mission about archaeological excavations, were announced.
ArcheoFrame was the first Italian university laboratory dedicated to communicative experimentation on archaeological heritage, producing documentaries, multimedia products, museum projects, educational formats and outreach initiatives in Italy and the Mediterranean.
ArcheoFrame will enhance the cooperation between the two universities by chronicling their respective archaeological missions and opening up to new partnerships.
