Condolences for Giulia Cecchettin
In memory of Giulia Cecchettin on Tuesday, Nov.ember 21, a minute's silence will be observed within the Athenaeum.
IULM University joins in the condolences for Giulia Cecchettin, a student at the University of Padua, who was a victim of feminicide, just days before the discussion of her dissertation.
The grief and dismay over the loss is deep within the community of our University. For this reason, IULM wishes to express its deepest condolences to Giulia's family and friends, and tomorrow - Tuesday, November 21 - will observe a minute's silence in her memory. The moment of recollection is addressed to the entire academic community, so students, faculty and administrative technical staff are invited to take part.
Students and faculty will observe a minute of silence during the first lecture of the day tomorrow, while for administrative technical staff the minute of silence will be handled independently within each office.
The gesture is aimed at honoring Giulia's memory and raising awareness of the importance of combating gender-based violence. Our University joins the chorus of voices calling for a collective effort to stop violence against women.
