Giovanni Venturato, a second-year student in the Master's Degree Program in Television, Cinema and New Media, won the contest that awards the best video essay

Giovanni Venturato, a second-year student in the Master's Degree Program in Television, Cinema and New Media, won the (Ri)montaggi competition of the Mostra del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro (Pesaro New Cinema Festival). The competition, open to students from Italian and foreign universities and film schools, awards the best video essay, a practice of analyzing and reviewing film in audiovisual form.

The jury, composed of Simone Emiliani, Federica Illuminati and Donato Sansone, awarded the video essay by Giovanni Venturato, titled Spectral Existences, "for the respectful way in which the work deals with such an important theme (the representation of migrants in Those Who Jump, by Moritz Siebert, Abou Bakar Sidibé and Estephan Wagner, Havarie by Philip Scheffner and Atlantics, by Mati Diop) without leveraging the emotional aspect, and maintaining a strong political connotation both thematically and formally."

The competition finalists also include another IULM student, Giulia Monti, with Last Night in Soho: Do You Get Déja-vu?

Giovanni Venturato and Giulia Monti are applauded by the entire IULM community.
