Andrés Barrios in concert: the roots of flamenco in IULM

Music - 23 April 2026 - Event date 16 May 2026

On the occasion of Piano City Milano 2026, the Athenaeum will host a sensory journey through Andalusian sounds, jazz and Latin rhythms

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., the IULM University Rose Garden will welcome the talents of Andrés Barrios. The event is part of the program of Piano City Milano, the city's first widespread festival that, from May 15 to 17, transforms the urban area into a large stage.

Andrés Barrios offers a renewed flamenco, the result of a solid classical training combined with the exploration of jazz, Latin and Afro-Cuban genres. Influenced by his Andalusian roots, the pianist leads the listener into a sensory experience that touches the depths of soleá and seguiriya, opening up to suggestions of Arab, Hindu music and the traditional black sound.

After last year's success with Danilo Rea's performance, IULM confirms its participation in a festival that is a symbol of urban regeneration and social inclusion.

To participate in the event, which is free and open to the public, it is necessary to register at this link

In case of bad weather, the event will be held regularly at the Auditorium of IULM 6.
