Pier Donato Vercellone, from Turin, is a company manager, expert business communicator, lecturer and appreciated speaker at international conferences and workshops.
In July 2016, Vercellone was elected President of Ferpi, the Italian Public Relations Federation, a historic and authoritative association representing professionals in Public Relations and Communication in Italy. With a degree in Political Science and specialization in Public Relations and Public Affairs, Vercellone began his professional career in leading communication consulting agencies.
In 1994, he was called upon to set up the communication office of Nike Italy and was subsequently promoted at European level to lead the communication of the multinational in Europe, from the headquarters in Amsterdam. In 2000, he accepted the position of Vice President of Marketing Communication in Telecom Italia, operating from Rome, to then manage the projects of brand enrichment and reputation building of the Telecom Group. In 2007, he assumed the role of Central Director of Communications and Major Events of the City of Milan, coordinating the communication and branding initiatives of the City.
Subsequently, following the sinking of the ship Concordia, he was appointed Senior Director of Burson Marsteller, with responsibility for all activities of crisis management, media relations, institutional relations and stakeholder engagement for the project of removal of the wreck from the island of Giglio.
He is currently Director of Communications, PR, Events and CSR at Sisal Group, with increasing responsibility for corporate communication, issue management and reputation building, media relations and public relations, sponsorship and events, and corporate social responsibility.
For about 12 years, Vercellone has been Professor of "Theory and Techniques of Image Promotion", in the degree course in Media Languages at the Catholic University of Milan, and teaches at Masters of Excellence and high schools of education at national level.
Vercellone is a member of the European Reputation Leaders Network of the Reputation Institute, an international research and consultancy institute on reputation issues. He is also a member of the Superbrand Council and a juror for numerous industry awards.
