He is a fixed-term researcher in Cinema, Photography and Television (L-Art/06) at IULM University, where he was a research fellow and where he obtained his PhD in Literature and Media: Narrativity and Languages. He has a Bachelor degree in Philosophy (Philosophy of Science) and a Master degree in Scientific Communication, obtained at the University of Milan.
He has been member of the interdepartmental research project "I confini della recensione" (The boundaries of reviewing) and he is in the scientific committee of Ca'Foscari Short Film Festival of the University Ca'Foscari of Venice. He has been vice-director of Asian Film Festival in Rome and creator and artistic director of Oltre lo specchio - Festival dell'immaginario fantastico e di fantascienza in Milan. He is a freelance journalist, enrolled in the Order of Journalists.
His studies focus on East Asian cinema (especially Japan, China, South Korea), in particular film history, animation, seriality, relations between industry and fans, relations between media and society. He also works on film languages, transmediality, adaptations and remakes, reviewing and history of periodicals in relation to cinema. He is interested in the relationships between cinema, science and popular imagination.
