Eleonora Gallitelli was awarded a PhD in Comparative Literature at IULM University, Milan, in 2014. Her thesis focused on the early Italian translations of works by Dickens, Faulkner and Rushdie. She has worked as an editorial translator since 2010 and taught English and translation since 2016. She participated in the research group “Towards a Global Literature: translation and its reception, images of otherness and cultural politics” at IULM University. She was awarded the 2021 ESSE Bursary for the project “Isaac Newton’s Principia and its Eighteenth-Century English Commentaries” and the Dickens Society’s 2022 Robert Partlow Prize for the essay “‘If the true story of the matter is to be told’: Dickens and the Neapolitan Prisoners”.
