IN THE FIRST TERM 2018/19: Tuesday 4.30 p.m.
Giuseppe Carrieri was born in Naples in 1985. After a degree in "Television, Cinema and Multimedia Production", in 2013, he obtained a PhD in Communication and New Technologies at IULM University with a work that investigated the emotional and social consequences of the arrival of electricity in some remote villages of tribal India where the inhabitants, for millennia, have kept intact their devotion to the cult of darkness and stars.
Also since 2013, in the academic field, he has collaborated with the IULM University, giving lectures and seminars, as well as assisting the teacher Maurizio Nichetti in organizing the course of "Direction Laboratory" at the Master's Degree in TV, Cinema and New Media.
Since 2017, he has been collaborating with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, in its Milan office, where he has been working on "Documentary Direction".
Since 2014, he has also been involved in the creation of Masterclasses and film workshops to combat, with the creation of audiovisual products and film projects, the high rate of early school leaving in certain peripheral areas of Naples.
In parallel with his work as a teacher, Giuseppe Carrieri founded Natia Docufilm, thanks to which he started a series of film and television productions that allowed him to participate in major international and national exhibitions, as well as to establish professional relationships with some of the major Italian broadcasters.
Among the main film productions are: "Stars counted on your fingers" (2012, winner of the International Documentary Festival "Have you ever seen?"The film was conceived by Luca Zingaretti, as well as the Etno Film Festival and the Festival del Reportage Ambientale), "Tra le scissici i petali" (2012, nomination of the competition "La storia secondo me" at the Nastri D'Argento), "In Utero Srebrenica" (2013, nominated as "Best feature film documentary" at the David di Donatello, winner of the Prix International du Reportage Europeen, Bellaria Film Festival, Aljazeera FF, Human Right Awards at the Geneva FF, Europe Orient FF, The Look of Homer FF), "Hanaa" (2017, winner of the Cape Town Film Festival, official selection at the Moscow Film Festival, CPH Dox Festival in Copenhagen, Beldocs FF in Belgrade).
Among the television works, we remember: "Notturno Italiano", a series of documentaries on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, for the transmission DIXIT conducted by Gianni Minoli (Rai Storia), "Tu sali tra le stelle" on the earthquake in Abruzzo (Rai 5), "Nemo - Profeti del Futuro" (Nemo - Prophets of the Future) (Marco Polo - Alice Tv), "Startup in a day" (Rai Fiction), the container "Ritratti" for the program "Passaggio a Nord Ovest" (RAI), "Ritratto di Gaetano Pesce" and "Artisti in Fuga" (Sky Arte), "Italiani fuori" and "Storie dell'altro mondo" (Storie dell'altro mondo) (republic.it), "Notes on happiness", "This land will be beautiful", "Love songs for a Genocide", "Possible Mission", "Traveling with Mohammed" (Tv2000), "We are Culture" (La EFFE Tv) and "The craft of living" (Treccani TV).
