Federico Brugia is today the most renowned Italian advertising director in the world.
Born in Milan in 1967, he attended film school in Bologna, and from 1986, alongside his studies, he gained his first professional experiences in audio-visual works, ranging from fashion films to music videos.
Since 1991, he has produced music videos and commercials, winning numerous awards in Italy and abroad. In particular, his commercials for BMW caught the attention of the international advertising scene, leading him to direct lots of films for the automotive brand internationally in the following years.
Among the most important projects are his global campaigns for Alitalia, Maserati, Audi, Dolce & Gabbana, Fiat, Bulgari, Barilla, Pirelli, Riva Yachts...
He has worked with important testimonials, such as Elton John, Eva Green, Malika Ayane, Luciano Pavarotti, Isabella Rossellini, Francesca Neri, Rafa Nadal, Boris Becker, Eva Riccobono, Kimi Raikkonen, Roberto Baggio...
In 2008 he published his first of two photo books, edited by Damiani and simply called "51", the second book "365" was released in 2009.
Moreover, after having shot numerous short films, he directs an independent feature film that in 2012 comes out in theaters "Tutti i rumori del mare”: the film is a social reflection around the tragic world that revolves around the trafficking of human beings. The film receives critical acclaim for the director's ability to describe "noir" atmospheres with a poetic language and an innovative aesthetic.
In 2020, he directed a short film (commissioned by Riva Yachts) starring Pierfrancesco Favino. The film – an homage to Italian Cinema and to the city of Venice – has been presented at the 77th International exhibition of Cinema in Venice, in September 2020.
His latest production, again for Riva Yachts, is a spectacular action short film intended to celebrate the brand's 180th anniversary, starring Pierfrancesco Favino, David Beckham, Charles Leclerc.
