Thomas Berloffa works in the fields of graphics, web design, design, exhibition design, art, virtual reality.
After studying design at the Politecnico (engineering and technology university) of Turin (Italy), he started his career in Milan in 2000 as a partner of designer Carlo Forcolini in the new design, web and graphic design studio Forcolini LAB.
In 2005 he founded the Ten Plus One studio dedicated to branding, graphic design and exhibition design projects; in 2017 he founded Iconodrome, a start-up dedicated to the study and application of virtual technologies; in 2018 he founded the second design studio Thomas Berloffa Design Studio srl dedicated to graphics and exhibition and trade show design in the pharmaceutical sector.
From 2010 to the present day, he has taught and lectured at Istituto Europeo di Design (European Design Insitute), Politecnico (engineering and technology university) and Raffles (Fashion and Design University) in Milan.
In 2010 he was a lecturer at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan (International Master of Design in English) with a project involving Universal Music Italia and artist Caparezza.
In 2018, he initaited the first course at IED dedicated to the emerging virtual reality technologies and has been a lecturer in the threeyear degree courses, thesis supervisor in the visual arts area and lecturer for the International Master's in Interior Design.
In 2019 and 2020, at the Politecnico of Milan, he held seminars dedicated to virtual reality withing the framework of the Designing Subsystems and Building Components course (Studies In Building Systems Engineering, Master's Degree).
Since 2022, he has been teaching Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in three courses at Raffles Milano.
Over the years, he has obtained several acknowledgments, including an honourable mention at the 20th
Compasso d'Oro Design Award, three projects published in the ADI Design Index books, and inclusion among the best Italian Graphic Designers in the selection of the 'The New Italian Design' exhibition at Triennale Milano.
Since the beginning of his career to date, he has designed installations in more than 20 countries and his works have been shown in national and international design exhibitions.
From 2012 to 2014 Thomas collaborated with the artist Marina Abramovic for whom he signed the branding of the Marina Abramovic Institute, taking care of its promotion by means of graphic and design projects.
From 2014 to 2016 he collaborated with Studio Daniel Libeskind in Milan as a special project supervisor for graphic design, fashion, and new media projects promoted by the Studio.
