Born in 1986, Marcello Baretta graduated in Film Directing and Production at IED - European Institute of Design in Milan in 2008. In 2012 he graduated in Communication, Media and Advertising, specializing in Cinema and Television at IULM University of Languages and Communication in 2014. He worked in national and international film productions and in 2014 he produced and directed The Craftsman, officially selected for the David di Donatello Awards. In 2021 he founded GoPractical, a brand dedicated to analog Cinema which has among its objectives the dissemination of arts and practical techniques in contrast to a film industry that is becoming increasingly digital and virtual. A strong supporter of the theatrical experience and film records, Marcello Baretta alternates productions and educational activities, making his experience available to the new generations. His skills as a practical director merge with those of stop-motion animation, animatronic and stagecraft, in a constant search for improvement, exploitation and dissemination.
