Roundtables on Arabic language teaching in Italy
Exploring new pathways for Arabic language education
One year after the first edition in Milan, Università IULM is hosting a new series of Round Tables on Arabic Language Teaching in Italy, in partnership with Qatar Foundation International (QFI), based in Washington, DC, which is dedicated to advancing the value of teaching and learning Arabic as a global language. The event will take place on October 23–24, 2025, at the Rome site of IULM University, Palazzo Cipolla (Via dei Montecatini 17).
The initiative, titled "Why impactful Arabic language education matters: connecting communities, and strengthening language learning pathways," aims to identify and discuss practical strategies to develop and strengthen Arabic language education pathways in Italy—from primary and secondary schools to universities.Participants will analyze the current state of Arabic language education, identify challenges and opportunities, and propose actionable strategies to improve the quality and continuity of Arabic teaching across the Italian education system.
The roundtable will bring together university professors, secondary school principals and teachers, representatives of the Ministry of Education and regional school offices, along with members of Arabic-speaking communities.
