Presentation of the book ‘Il fantasma di Toro seduto’ by Massimo De Giuseppe: a dialogue between past and present on Native Americans in 1970s Italy. Thursday 30 January 2025, 6 p.m., IULM Rome.

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 6 p.m., at the IULM Headquarters in Rome (Events Room, Palazzo Cipolla), there will be a presentation of the book ‘Il fantasma di Toro seduto. Il mito dei nativi americani nell'Italia degli anni Settanta’ by Prof. Massimo De Giuseppe.

The 1970s represented a fundamental period in the history of globalisation. In a context of profound economic, cultural and generational changes, Native Americans suddenly returned to the centre of attention. This volume, adopting a glocal history perspective, aims to interweave the ghosts of the past with the tensions of a turbulent decade, characterised not only by violence, but also by a lively interest in worlds that, although distant, aroused great curiosity.
