IULM for the City is back

Culture - 01 February 2022

The initiative that opens to the citizens of Milan some university courses held by famous teachers - Roberto Vecchioni, Stefania Mancuso, Annalisa Cavaleri and Angelo Panebianco -  will resume from February 9

Our University consolidates its vocation to act as a cultural attraction for the entire city of Milan. In February 2022, the initiative "IULM for the City" returns: a series of lectures, accessible free of charge to all citizens, on some fundamental topics related to the world of communication. As of this year, IULM is proud and honored to be able to count Professor Roberto Vecchioni - who in 2019 received an honorary degree from the University for the master's degree in Storytelling Arts - among its faculty.

The teachings of  "IULM for the City" are part of the curriculum of IULM's Bachelor's and master's degree programs, as a choice exam for 6 CFUs (University Educational Credits).

The course "Anthropology of Food"- held by journalist and food and wine critic Annalisa Cavaleri - will take participants on a journey to discover rituals and ancient symbols linked to food and world religions, up to the most current marketing projects of starred chefs.

The political scientist and essayist Angelo Panebianco, in his course "Theory of International Relations", will provide a review of the main orientations of thought and the main theories on international relations of the past and present.

Finally, the singer-songwriter Roberto Vecchioni and Stefania Mancuso, professor of Classical Archaeology and Didactics of the park and the museum, from this year will hold the course "The contemporaneity of the Ancient". A path that starts from archaeology, material expression of the ancient, to arrive at literature, poetry, music, with the aim of showing how much the ancient contributes to the creation of the contemporary collective imagination.

The IULM for the City 2022 courses are open to students and auditors, subject to availability. For those who want to participate in presence, it is compulsory to enroll to the individual lessons through this form, except for IULM students who have already included the course in their study plan.

The completion of the form allows the attendance of the course(s) as "auditor", but not for taking the exam. In particular:

1) IULM students interested in taking the exam, who have not already included the course in their study plan, must fill in the form and then include the course in their study plan from March 1st to March 15th;

2) external students interested in taking the exam must fill in the form and then refer to the Regulations for single courses for the academic year 2021/22.
