Between Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone: IULM protagonist of Design Week
IULM at Design Week: students protagonists among projects, performances and networking
From April 7 to 13, Milan will be transformed into a widespread laboratory of creativity thanks to Milan Design Week. Once again this year, IULM University will be an active part of the event with a program of initiatives that will involve students and faculty in unique educational and performance experiences.
The theme of the 2025 edition, "Connected Worlds," reflects the interdisciplinary and innovative spirit of IULM, a university that makes communication, arts, fashion, tourism and languages the core of its teaching and research activities.
IULM at the Fuorisalone
The University will be present at several events during Fuorisalone, which will enliven Milan's neighborhoods with installations and events. Among the planned initiatives:
-
Project Work with MUDAC in Lausanne | Students from the Fashion and Creative Industries and Arts and Cultural Events courses will participate in a project workshop in collaboration with the Museum of Design (MUDAC) in Lausanne, hosted at the House of Artists - House of Switzerland.
-
Dance-theater performance | from April 7 to April 13, also at the House of Switzerland, students from the Centro Universitario Teatrale (CUT) IULM will create a cyclical dance-theater performance to interpret and activate the installation BADDANCE WITH THEBADWEEDS by artist Rocio Berenguer, created for the ongoing Solar Biennale 2 in Lausanne.
-
Collaboration with the Rossana Orlandi Gallery | Some students of the Master's Degree in Arts, Valorization Strategies and the Market will take part in the activities organized by the prestigious Rossana Orlandi Gallery for the Fuorisalone.
-
Participation in Acqua Foundation Initiatives | Students from the courses in Arts and Cultural Events and in Arts, Valorization Strategies and the Market will take part in the initiatives of Acqua Foundation for Il Giardino delle Idee, created by Vanity Fair with artist Florania at the Museo Diocesano in Milan.
Visit to the Salone del Mobile
In addition to the events in the city, the Salone del Mobile in Rho-Fiera will be an opportunity for on-the-job training: on Friday, April 11, second-year Fashion and Creative Industries students will participate in an exclusive guided tour with Design lecturer Matteo Pirola.
With these initiatives, IULM confirms its commitment to connecting academic education and the design world, offering students concrete opportunities for growth and networking within one of the most anticipated events of the year.
