Academic and non-academic cooperation in the Mediterranean area: IULM meets UNIMED-Union of Mediterranean Universities
Under the guidance of Prof. Andrea Miconi, Associate Professor of Media Sociology and Horizon 2020 Principal Investigator - IULM University and thanks to the intervention of UNIMED Director, Dr. Marcello Scalisi, we will discuss the situation of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
We will report about our initiatives in the region, with a specific focus on such crisis areas such as Libya, Syria, Palestine and post-revolutionary Tunisia. In all evidence, the experience tells us that the academic system - in its broader sense, including professors, management, students, technicians, and administrative staff -can play a fundamental role in building new bridges and favoring both North-South and South-South collaboration.
What are the various opportunities and challenges and how are they being addressed? We will also explore this topic based on UNIMED's connections with other relevant institutions, and on the funding strategies ofthe European Commission.
