A conversation open to the public with Shain Shapiro, founder and president of Sound Diplomacy and executive director of the Center for Music Ecosystems, will be heldon Nov. 21 at 12 noon in Room 144 at IULM University. Author of the book Music Ecosystems. How Music Can Improve the Places We Live (EDT), Shapiro will discuss the role of music in transforming communities, improving urban spaces and strengthening cultural ties.
The meeting, moderated by Martha Friel (IULM University) and Nicola Bellini (Sant'Anna University), will be conducted in English and will also include a presentation of Shapiro's book, which explores how music can contribute to the quality of life in cities and territories.
