Professional designer, she graduated with honors in Strategic Design and obtained her PhD in Industrial Design at the Polytechnic of Milan (Faculty of Architecture). He divides his activity between profession, didactics and theoretical research.
Born in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1964, she lived in various regions of Northern Italy, before arriving in Milan to study, thanks to a scholarship, with exponents of the Concrete Art Movement. Bruno Munari and Nino di Salvatore marked his formation. With the former he had an intense formative experience, with the latter he maintained a relationship of collaboration and esteem for his entire life. Di Salvatore will call her in 1998-99 to teach in the school he founded.
Professional Visual Designersince 1986
He began designing for G&R Associati in Milan, with Giorgio and Emilio Fioravanti and Luciano Lorenzi, following projects for Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Civiche Raccolte d'Arte del Castello Sforzesco in Milan, Arflex, Artemide, Castelli, Mondadori Editore, Fratelli Fabbri Editori and many others.
At the same time he worked as a freelance for major advertising agencies, including Wunderman (Young & Rubicam group), Talent, Advema Cooper.
Professional studio since 1988
In 1988, together with Giorgio Lorenzi, she founded the Doppiouni studio in Milan, and is now its project leader, as an expert in visual design, corporate identity and strategic design for cultural institutions, www.doppiouni.it
He has worked in the fields of publishing, packaging, exhibition design and corporate image for: Campari, Zegna, Fonit Cetra, Electa, Mondadori, Hoepli, Ricordi, Provincia e Comune di Milano, Coca Cola, INU edizioni, Lupetti - Editori di Comunicazione and many others.
His projects have been reported in industry publications. In particular, the innovative research project and the creation of the multimedia CD entitled "The province to discover" was selected and published for innovation in ADI Index 2003.
In recent years she has also devoted herself to the project of the jewel. For this new activity he created the iLorenzi brand, designed various jewels and created the website www.ilorenzi.it.
One of his projects was selected by Alba Cappellieri and exhibited at the Triennale di Milano in 2011; the Ice jewellery series was selected by Anna Gili and presented at the Fabbrica del Vapore among the products of the most innovative Makers in 2013.
Professional photographer since 1986
He realizes and uses in professional works his own photographic works. He has been in charge of photographic campaigns and editorial publications. He has exhibited as a photographer on several occasions.
Since 1990 he has been carrying out research and photographic campaigns in the USA, Australia, Japan and much of Europe.
An important personal photography exhibition entitled "AbstrAct" was chosen by Gisella Borioli for Superstudio
(Design Museum 2012 - Milan), sponsored by MAT - Milan other Talents and sponsored by Aiap.
Didactics since 1998
Since 1998 he has held teaching positions at private institutes: Scuola Politecnica di Design, Domus Academy, Scuola Superiore di Comunicazione, Accademia di Comunicazione in Milan and Istituto Superiore di Design in Naples. He has taught for years "Fundamentals of visual design" at the SPD in Milan and "History of visual design" at the Academy of Communication.
Since 2005 he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Design of the Politecnico di Milano, now Scuola del Design.
He has taught in the Advanced Training Courses and in the e-learning courses of Poli.Design and at the Master in Strategic Design of the same university.
Since 2005, she has been a speaker or co-rapporteur for dozens of specialist degree theses and is a member of the degree committees of the Scuola del Design of the Politecnico di Milano.
Since 2017 he has been a contract lecturer on the "Museum Didactics" course at Iulm, Milan.
Research Activities
Since 1993 he has had research assignments in international projects of universities and private bodies and has been part of several research groups.
Since 2001 she has been a speaker at conferences, seminars, conferences and study days.
He is currently working for the CI.LAB (Creative Industries Lab) research laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano in the field of strategic design for cultural institutions.
Editorial Activity since 1996
He has collaborated with several newspapers: "Modo", "Art Lab", "Art App", "Print", providing articles and images on the themes of the communication project, visual culture and the strategic project for cultural institutions.
He has professionally edited digital publications.
He has written the texts of the Adi Design Index 2014.
He has regularly collaborated, in the first years of publication, with the specialized magazine "Progetto Grafico".
She has been editorial curator for some volumes of the "Communication Theories and Techniques Series" and in 2010 she had a contract as curator of the editorial series "System Design" by Lupetti, Editori di Comunicazione, Milan.
