Francesco Galofaro is an associate professor at IULM University in Milan. He received his PhD in semiotics with Umberto Eco and Maria Pia Pozzato in 2005. He is a member of the Centro Universitario Bolognese di Etnosemiotica, directed by Francesco Marsciani, and was a member of the ERC NeMoSanctI research group, directed by Jenny Ponzo at the University of Turin. He is co-founder and member of the editorial board of the online semiotics journal Ocula.

Ethnosemiotics; semiotics of religious and musical discourse; applications of semiotics to Natural Language Processing, with particular reference to Machine Learning and quantum-like models.
