CURRENT POSITION
Contract holder for official course in The Contemporaneity of Antiquity
LINES OF RESEARCH
Specific areas of research are Classical Archaeology and the Archaeology of Magna Graecia. He has conducted archaeological excavations and research both nationally and internationally (Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Spain and France). In Calabria in particular, he has supervised and coordinated excavations in collaboration with the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio at several sites that are now available for public enjoyment. Among the various research themes analyzed, private construction, theatrical architecture, and funerary archaeology emerge.
In addition to the archaeological aspects over time, as a specific line of research, he has deepened that of the enhancement of archaeological heritage, analyzing in particular archaeological museums and parks as tools for the enhancement of archaeology.
He has also investigated the role of cultural heritage in contemporary society and in defining tourism strategies for the enhancement of territories.
He has designed and implemented several cultural projects for the promotion and enhancement of antiquity, including with the application of information and digital technologies.
He is scientific director of two cultural enterprises operating in the management of archaeological services for museums and archaeological parks.
He has a professional collaboration contract with the Regional Directorate of Museums of Calabria
He has three monographs and several articles or parts of books on specific research topics to his credit.
