In 2025, she earned her PhD in Visual and Media Studies at IULM University with a dissertation entitled True Crime Podcasting in Italy: History, Typologies, Perspectives, and Methodological Approaches. Her research explored the true crime genre in Italian podcasts, with a particular focus on production practices and narrative dynamics. She carried out research activities as a Visiting Fellow at the City University of New York (CUNY).
Currently, her studies focus on true crime television series, with a specific interest in digital platform productions and the role of crime reporting within the Italian media and television system.
Since 2022, she has been supporting the course TV: Models and Professions at IULM University, assisting with exams and classroom activities; in 2025, she was formally appointed as a teaching assistant.
She graduated with honors in Italian Studies and European Literary Cultures from the University of Bologna.
She has presented at numerous national and international conferences, and has written for academic and top-tier journals on true crime series, the presence of literature on television, and the relationship between true crime podcasts and journalism.
MAIN AREAS OF SCIENTIFIC INTEREST
Her scientific interests include the study of the true crime genre, with particular attention to the Italian context, its declinations in different media and its production dimension. In particular, he is interested in television true crime seriality, true crime podcasts, and the use of the television archive in the production of this genre.
