Born in 1984, Nicolas Ballario specializes in contemporary art as it intersects with media. After completing his studies at a photography academy, he joined Oliviero Toscani’s creative hub, "La Sterpaia," eventually becoming its head of cultural programming. He has collaborated with major art institutions and curates catalogues, public programs, and exhibitions in both public and private spaces. He currently writes and hosts contemporary art programs for Radio Uno Rai and contributes to "L’Espresso" (where he writes a weekly column) and "Living" (Corriere della Sera). For "Il Giornale dell’Arte", he curates and hosts "TeleGiornale dell’Arte" an art and culture vodcast. He has hosted the photography program "Camera Oscura" on LA7, as well as "Italia Contemporanea" and "The Square" on Sky Arte. He is the founder and president of Cucù, a communications studio dedicated to culture, and collaborates with leading organizations in the fields of design and contemporary dance. He serves as the artistic director for Alba’s bid for Italian Capital of Contemporary Art 2027, having also curated the candidacy dossier.
