Walter Albini. The talent, the designer.Presentation of the exhibition catalog
On October 22, at 10:30 a.m., in Room 146 of IULM University, the exhibition catalog will be presented Walter Albini. The Talent, the Designer, currently underway at the Museo del Tessuto in Prato
The book and exhibition, edited by Daniela Degl'Innocenti (textile historian and curator of the Museo del Tessuto) and Enrica Morini (fashion historian and IULM lecturer), retrace the creative and professional story of a leading fashion designer of the 1960s and 1970s, whose role was fundamental in the launch of Italian prêt à porter and Made in Italy.
The catalog, published by Skira, reconstructs Walter Albini's 20-year career and delves into its various facets through the contributions of experts and scholars specializing in various fields such as Paolo Volonté, Margherita Rosina, Samuele Magri, Lucia Miodini, Alberto Zanoletti, Valentina Garavaglia (IULM professor and dean-elect), and Elena Gipponi (IULM researcher). The work concludes with a documentary appendix on the companies that marked Albini's professional path, edited by Michela Taloni.
At the event, moderated by Prof. Mauro Ferraresi, the editors will speak, together with two of the authors: Bianca Cappello (jewelry historian), who will talk about Albini's bijoux, and Antonio Mancinelli (journalist and IULM lecturer), with a focus on his men's fashion
An unmissable opportunity to discover the visionary genius of one of the pioneers of contemporary Italian fashion
