IULM Professor Antonio Scurati receives the Gold Medal of the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

Madrid's Círculo de Bellas Artes has awarded Professor Antonio Scurati the Gold Medal, recognizing his "unquestionable literary quality" and his commitment to conveying the risks democracies face in the face of movements that threaten their foundations. This honor is in addition to the many awards Scurati has already received, including the Premio Strega in 2019, the Prix du Livre Européeen in 2022, and the appointment as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in France in 2024.

The Círculo de Bellas Artes, founded in 1880, is one of Europe's leading private cultural centers, committed to the promotion of contemporary arts and culture. The Gold Medal is awarded to personalities whose work has contributed significantly to cultural renewal.
Scurati was honored along with Spanish artist Andrés Rábago, known as "El Roto," for his multifaceted artistic career

The award underscores the importance of Scurati's work in the international literary scene and his role in public debate, both in Italy and abroad. His participation in the Eñe Festival, organized precisely by the Círculo de Bellas Artes, highlighted his commitment to promoting literature that stimulates critical reflection on contemporary society.

The entire IULM community congratulates with Professor Scurati.
