Regulations for admission to the 'Linguaskill' test a.y. 2023/2024
Linguaskill is the English language proficiency self-assessment test for all skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing). Read the 2023/2043 regulations here.
These Regulations govern student access to the Linguaskill test for the academic year 2023/2024.
What is Linguaskill
Linguaskill is a self-assessment test to evaluate the level of English language knowledge covering all language skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing), in accordance with CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) levels A1-B2 or higher.
Being developed within the Cambridge Assessment system means that it is normally accepted as proof of level.
Who is it for?
The test is open to:
- students regularly enrolled for the academic year 2023/2024, in their current year or “fuori corso”, in the Bachelor's degree courses of the Faculty of Arts and Tourism and the Faculty of Communication who have passed the Professional English III / Professional English for Tourism III exam;
- students enrolled, for the academic year 2023/2024, in their first year, in their second year or “fuori corso”, in the Master's degree courses of the Faculty of Arts and Tourism and the Faculty of Communication;
- students regularly enrolled, for the academic year 2023/2024, in their final year or "fuori corso", in the degree courses of the Faculty of Interpreting and Translation, who may be interested;
- graduands of the first session of the academic year 2022/2023 (April 2024).
When and where is it held?
The next session is planned for the 14 of December 2023.
The test will be held in Computer Rooms 2 (IULM 1, third floor).

130 places available for the December 2023 session.

How much does it cost
The test has a cost of €130, which will be paid by the student at the time of enrolment, by accessing SCRIGNO Pago Facile at the following link (Access as "Anonymous user" > indicate "spontaneous payment" > select "Università IULM" as the institution, "test linguaskill" as the reason for payment, amount € 130, reason for payment NAME-SURNAME-STUDENT ID NUMBER-Linguaskill Test).
The sum may be partially reimbursed, on one occasion only, in the amount of €80 credited to the University Card (Carta d'Ateneo) of students who achieve an overall score of no less than 179 on the Cambridge English Scale (equivalent to a "full B2").
Students who do not achieve this result cannot be reimbursed even partially for the cost of the test.
How to enrol
Students wishing to take the test must enrol by filling in the form available at this link and pay the registration fee by the 10th of December, 2023. When filling in the form, students must declare that they meet the requirements for enrolment.
In the event that the number of enrolments exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected in order of payment date.
If the test cannot be taken due to a lack of available places, any amount already paid will be refunded in full.
Communication of results
The result is sent to the student by email within a few days of taking the test.
