Università IULM wins first place at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025
An international success at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025
Università IULM has achieved an outstanding result at the 2025 QS Reimagine Education Awards, securing first place in the “Neuroscience of Learning Award” category and distinguishing itself among more than 1,600 submissions from academic institutions around the world.
The prestigious recognition was announced on 2 December 2025 during the awards ceremony held in London, as part of the international conference that annually celebrates the most innovative projects in teaching and learning. Representing the University, Professor Vincenzo Russo and Dr. Simone Chiarelli presented the project developed by the Neuromarketing Research Center “Behavior and Brain Lab.”
The winning initiative, “Applying Neuroscience to Foster Critical Thinking on AI and Stereotypes,” uses neuroscientific tools to help students develop critical thinking about generative artificial intelligence and the cultural biases it may reproduce. Through hands-on workshops, students examine texts and images generated by platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, identifying distortions and underlying stereotypes.
In a second phase, EEG, eye-tracking, and skin conductance measurements are used to analyze participants’ cognitive and emotional responses, offering an educational experience that integrates active learning, digital ethics, and neuroscience. Developed in collaboration with Samsung Innovation Campus, the project proposes an interdisciplinary model of education that combines technology, social responsibility, and awareness of cognitive processes.
