Jerusalem yesterday and today
Four meetings at IULM to delve into the history of the city, cradle of the three monotheistic religions
Cradle of the three monotheistic religions - Judaism, Christianity, Islam - Jerusalem is not just a city: it is a place that stands as a crossroads between past, present and future, a future that all people should hope for of peace, reconciliation and coexistence.
In this spirit, IULM University is organizing four meetings with as many scholars and theologians, aiming to explain and render the complexity of a city where history and religion, culture and devotion converge.
Elena Lea Bartolini, an expert in Jewish hermeneutics; Marco Cianci, a guide to the Holy Land and head of the University Pastoral Ministry of the Diocese of Milan; Simone Lombardo, a doctor in Medieval History at the Università Cattolica of Milan on cotutorship with the Universität Heidelberg; and Andrea Avveduto, a journalist, will take us on a journey that is not only "geographical" but also "interior."
