IULM renews partnership with ALF Premi Cinema to enhance women's voices in the film industry
IULM University confirms its partnership with ALF Premi Cinema, an initiative created to celebrate and promote the role of women in cinema and audiovisuals. The competition, now in its second edition, aims to give visibility and recognition to female directors, screenwriters and professionals in the field, highlighting their creative and cultural impact.
The awards ceremony will be held on Sept. 27 at Fabbrica del Vapore (Via Procaccini, 4 Milan. Piazzale, Arianteo cinema space), at 8:30 p.m., and will see the awarding of several prestigious prizes, including:
- Women Screenwriters Award, intended to recognize the talent of female authors who have distinguished themselves in the field of screenwriting.
- Best European Women's Film, dedicated to Europeanwomen directors who have been able to tell meaningful stories with a female perspective.
- Women ADV Directors, an award dedicated to female directors who have made a name for themselves in the world of advertising and commercial audiovisual content.
During the second edition of ALF Premi Cinema, the collaboration with IULM became even more intense through the work carried out by students from the Laboratory of Critical Writing for Film and Entertainment who, with the coordination of professors Elena Gipponi and Maria Chiara Grizzaffi, participated in the process of analyzing European films with a female theme and created a video essay on the forms of representation of the feminine that will be presented
during the awards ceremony.
The collaboration between IULM and ALF represents an ongoing commitment to inclusivity and gender equality, helping to promote a greater presence of women in all areas of the film industry. "The consolidation of this collaboration highlights the University's commitment to equal opportunity issues and contributes to the achievement of objectives such as strengthening the gender dimension in teaching and educational offerings and enhancing actions to support gender equality outside the university as well," says Professor Vanessa Gemmo, the Rector's delegate for Equal Opportunity.
