Alessandro D'Avenia opened the cycle Le strategie della parola

Culture - 14 February 2025

After Alessandro D’Avenia’s performance Resisti cuore!, the series The Strategies of the Word, curated by Cristina Dell’Acqua, continues. The next event will take place on March 14 with Daniele Mencarelli, who will lead a talk titled The Words of Passion and the Novel.

"The word is a mighty lady," wrote Gorgias in the 5th century B.C., "who with a very small and invisible body performs the most divine works.": so learning how to use it is a useful strategy for everyone.

With Alessandro D’Avenia’s performance Resisti cuore!, staged on Feb 13th, the series The Strategies of the Word, curated by Cristina Dell’Acqua, has officially begun. A guided reinterpretation of the epic work from multiple perspectives: as a scholar of classical literature who has made it his primary field of interest, as a teacher who has been promoting its full-length reading aloud for years, and as an intellectual highly skilled in interpreting the spirit of the times.

The charm and deep meaning of a great classic, a mother-book. A poem of return as the creation of destiny. A narrative of deeds as gestation. Mystery, the unknown, wonder. The risk: stepping beyond oneself to become authentic. Coming into the light, becoming alive to oneself. If we have lost the joy of our own odyssey, rereading the Odyssey is the best way to “return home.”
