A century after the Vatican Missionary Exposition. The international conference in IULM, Vatican Museums and Urbaniana University
A major international historical conference will be held in Rome on November 5 and 6 to discuss missions, colonialism, postcolonialism and globalization.
The conference entitled.A Century after the Vatican Missionary Exposition Watershed of a Glocal World (1925-2025), organized byIULM University together with the Pontifical Urbanian University, the Vatican Museums and the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, will be held Nov. 5 and 6 in Rome.
The conference will open on November 5 at 6 p.m. at IULM's Rome campus, Palazzo Cipolla, with institutional greetings and a talk by Raffaella Perin of the Catholic University of Milan, continuing on the morning of November 6 at theUrbanian University Auditorium and in the afternoon at the Vatican Museums with a concluding visit to the Anima mundi section.
Together with the Rector of the Urbaniana University, Vincenzo Bonomo, the Director of the Vatican Museums, Barbara Jatta, the Rector of Università IULM , Valentina Garavaglia, and the President of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, Marek Inglot Sj., internationally renowned historians, anthropologists, museographers and experts will speak. Among others: alison Kahn (Stanford University Overseas, Oxford), Blas Sierra de la Calle (Museo Oriental Valladolid), Massimo De Giuseppe (Università IULM), Antoine De Padou Pooda (Urbaniana University), Micol Forti (Director of MART), Nadia Fiussello (Vatican Museums), Mario L. Grignani (Urbaniana University), Andrzej Miotk (SVD Archives), Diego Pinna (Gregorian University), José L. Alonso Ponga (Universidad de Valladolid), Claude Prudhomme (Université Lumière Lyon 2), Giovanni Rizzi (Urbanian University), Gianpaolo Romanato (University of Padua) Cardinal Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, will conclude the proceedings.
The scientific committee for the conference is composed of Vincenzo Buonomo, Rector of the Urbaniana University, Massimo De Giuseppe (Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Fashion and Tourism at Università IULM), Mario L.
