IULM starring at Milano Digital Week: two events between identity, technology and the future
Milano Digital Week becomes an opportunity to highlight IULM University's commitment to dialogue with new technologies through initiatives that connect ethics, learning and digital storytelling.
Milano Digital Week: a stage for urban innovation
From October 1 to 5, 2025, Milan will be transformed into a showcase for digital transformation: talks, workshops, immersive experiences, and spaces for citizens, businesses, institutions, and academic realities to come together. Milano Digital Week is conceived as a "place of culture" where to explore the nuances of digital and understand how it shapes social relations, work, and identity.
In this context, the participation of IULM University fits in not as an external guest, but as an active protagonist, contributing events that reflect the relationship between technology, society and culture.
IULM events at Milano Digital Week
Living with Artificial Intelligence: everyday life, learning, work
On October 2, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., an open lecture by Dr. Rosantonietta Scramaglia will be held in Room 153 (IULM 1)Living with Artificial Intelligence: everyday life, learning, work.
The event offers a dialogue around the implications of AI in everyday life, education and the world of work: what changes when generative technologies enter the most mundane gestures, such as studying or performing professional tasks?
A specific focus will be on technological emotions - anxiety, trust, familiarity - and the need to define rights, responsibilities and competencies in a rapidly changing context. Objective: to connect academic, business and community knowledge to draw shared maps of digital transformations.
With this conference, the Athenaeum positions itself as a place for critical reflection on the adoption of AI, valuing the contribution of the humanities in the governance of innovation.
Unstoppable Women Talk 2025 - aesthetics, identity and algorithms
On October 2, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., the Milan leg of "Unstoppable Women Talk 2025" will be held at IULM University (IULM 6, Sala dei 146).
The event - part of the "Unstoppable Women" initiative that collects and enhances women's stories of leadership, innovation and presence in change - addresses the relationship between body, identity and technology in the digital space. Protagonist of the talk for IULM will be Luisa Damiano, professor of logic and philosophy of science
The macro-theme is Reflected Mirrors: what aesthetic patterns are generated by algorithms, and how do these reverberate on self-perception?
Issues of consent, digital social pressure, and how personal choices can maintain autonomy in a context where images and data shape identities will also be addressed.
Hosting "Unstoppable Women" at the Athenaeum means bringing the IULM community into dialogue with reflections on gender, aesthetics and the ethical impact of technology: a bridge between humanistic studies and digital sensibilities.
IULM and technologies
Participation in Milano Digital Week is certainly not only symbolic: it is important to remember that IULM has long invested in technology with its own tools and facilities.
In particular, the IULM AI Lab is one of the most significant laboratories in academia in Italy dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, with a model that integrates research, training, consulting and design for the business world.
IULM's participation in Milan Digital Week with Unstoppable Women Talk 2025 and Living with Artificial Intelligence is a symbolic and practical investment: a way to put human issues revolving around technology at the center, and to make the University live as an open, critical and protagonist place of the digital future.
