5 new scholarships for IULM students

Students - 31 January 2022

Thanks to the agreement with the newspaper "La Ragione - leAli alla libertà" 5 students enrolled in the Master's degree program will be able to take advantage of this important contribution

IULM University and the new newspaper La Ragione - leAli alla libertà have defined an agreement for the assignment of 5 merit scholarships during the academic year 2021/2022 for students enrolled in the first year of the Master's degree courses in

- Art, valorisation and Market
- Artificial Intelligence for business and society
- Marketing, Consumption and Communication
- Specialised Translation and Conference Interpreting
- Television, Cinema and New Media

Among the students enrolled in the first year of the Master's degree courses listed above, ten will be selected from each course who have passed all the exams of the semester with the best average score and who will compete in writing an article on a topic chosen by La Ragione. The three best writings for each course will be published in the web and/or print edition of the newspaper La Ragione. Then, the Commission (composed of members of IULM University and La Ragione), will choose the students who will receive the scholarships of 8 thousand euros each from the five trios.

"I find particularly far-sighted and innovative the choice of a recently born newspaper to finance with a substantial donation some capable and deserving master's students, regardless of family income ," said IULM Rector, Professor Gianni Canova."It is a choice that goes in the direction of rewarding merit and enhancing individual commitment, in the conviction that it is also on these two pillars that the training and selection of the future ruling class of this country should  be based."

"The newspaper La Ragione was born to offer the country a free and authentically independent voice. A parallel mission is to offer a cultural platform, with which to encourage the best training of the new generations, through education in comparison, in-depth study and study," said Fulvio Giuliani, Editor-in-Chief of La Ragione"With this in mind, we could not hope for anything better than the agreement we are announcing today with IULM University. The grants will be awarded exclusively on the basis of the merit of the candidates. La Ragione and IULM, in fact, firmly believe in the role of "social elevator" to be reserved for the University. With IULM, we have found absolute harmony in the content and in the objectives given by the Rector, Professor Gianni Canova. Students will be invited to participate not only in the assignment of scholarships, but also in daily life. An opportunity to deepen the role of a free and aware journalism".

How to get the scholarships?

There are five scholarships. For each of the above-mentioned Master's degree courses, ten students will be chosen from among those who:

1) will have successfully passed ALL the examinations included in the first-year study plan by the third call of the next summer session (May - July 2022);

2) have the highest grade point average;

The ten students chosen for each course will undertake a paper on a topic chosen by La Ragione. The three best papers for each course will be published in the web and/or print edition of the daily newspaper La Ragione. Afterwards, the Commission (composed of members of IULM University and La Ragione), will choose the students who will receive the scholarships from the five trios.

Those who will be eligible for the scholarship will have the possibility to keep it also for the second year, according to the modalities that we will indicate later on.
