Research lines
Vincenzo Trione’s research interests encompass visual studies, a theoretical field internationally attended by scholars from diverse backgrounds (history of art, history of cinema and media, cultural studies, sociology, aesthetics). Trione has investigated some territories, not always adequately examined by historiography, with the intention of sketching a network of deep correspondences involving painting, photography, cinema and literature: he has studied mainly the system of contemporary languages, understanding the connections that existed between theory and history of poetics, phenomenology of shapes and structures of the imaginary, during the avant-garde and the neo-avant-garde seasons. Finally, understanding the connections between arts and media. The aim is not to suggest an indistinct media flow, but to safeguard the proper of the various disciplines and, at the same time, to push them beyond their fences; to turn them into “mutants”; to relocate them; to open them up to other disciplines; finally, to lead them to free zones still little explored. The different “sectoral skills” are respected, but registers and codes are combined; junctions, conceptual frameworks, intersections between fields of knowledge are explored.
