CURRENT POSITION

Assistant Professor LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATION - ENGLISH LANGUAGE

RESEARCH LINES

Anna Re’s scientific activity is structured around two main paths: the translation of environmental literature (Translation Studies) and its analysis and discourse analysis in the field of ecolinguistics. Furthermore, as for Applied Linguistics, she studies the English language as a global lingua franca and multicultural communication.

In the translation field, she published Italian Environmental Literature: An Anthology (Italica Press, 2003), the first work of translation and critical analysis in the world dedicated to the study of literature and the environment in Italy, and still used in various Italian departments in the United States, and the anthology Americana Verde (Edizioni Ambiente, 2009) released in a new expanded online edition (2017), also in this case the first translation in Italy dedicated to literature and the environment in the United States, in which a lexicological work in an attempt to define a lexicon of the environment.

In the last years, she has devoted particular attention to ecolinguistics. Recently, she published the volume Discourse Analysis and the Environment: Ecolinguistic Perspectives (Led Edizioni, 2024) which analyzes the linguistic forms and discourse structures in the reading and interpretation of the natural environment.
