Didi Gnocchi

Adele (Didi) Gnocchi (Pavia, 27 June 1961) is an Italian journalist, writer, documentary filmmaker and entrepreneur, founder of UltraFragola, the web tv of art and design, and of the 3D video production company Produzioni.

BIOGRAPHY

The beginnings: special correspondent in Russia, Germany, America
Inviata de la Provincia Pavese in the eighties, in 1985 she moved to Mediaset where for twenty years she dealt with reports and surveys for the news on neo-Nazism in Austria and Germany, before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and on the end of communism, the after Chernobyl, the death penalty and the Red Army in the former Soviet Union.
In the same years she is the author of documentaries, including Ghosts at the Goose's Edge and Squadrists of 2000 and the TV program Islands included, written with Mimmo Lombezzi. In the early nineties he spent a few months in America on the trail of the beat generation for the realization of the TV series Myths, fashions and rock'n roll.
In 1999 he published for Einaudi the book Odissea Rossa, the story of one of the founders of the Italian Communist Party, who died in Stalin's purges.

Entrepreneurial career
In 2000, the desire to experiment with independent and autonomous production paths led her to found her own video production company, 3D s.a.s.. The first documentary to be made was Betty Bee, Surviving in Art, which won first prize at the Turin Film Festival. In these years he writes and produces a series of documentaries broadcasted on Rai and Mediaset, Le streghe della notte, La casa sul lungofiume, Tutti gli uomini di Stalin, I giusti del gulag and L'altro Vietnam, and the six-part series conducted by Paolo Mieli broadcasted on Rai 3, Storia della Prima Repubblica.
For the publishing house Utet, he has edited three documentaries on the history of the Shoah - The Eichmann Trial, The Nuremberg Trial and The Judge of the Just - and a series of documentaries in 8 episodes on Human Rights.
In 2003 she met the architect Vico Magistretti and Maddalena De Padova, who brought her closer to design and architecture. The first design television series for Sky's channel, CULT, was released in 2003, followed by a second season in 2004. On the eve of the 2007 Salone del Mobile, Didi Gnocchi created the first web TV dedicated to the themes of design, architecture and art, Ultrafragola Channels (www.ultrafragola.tv ), which in its first year of life received the Yahoo award for best design site.
In 2009 3D Produzioni and Piccolo Teatro di Milano launched the web tv dedicated to theatre shows (www.piccoloteatro.tv ), which in 2013 won the Prix Italia Award for best web tv.
She is also the editor of the book is De Padova. 50 years of design, published in 2006, and the book Pallacanestro Pavia - La storia, written with Mario Tesio and published in 2013.
In 2012 he founded 3D PRODUCTIONS , a company dedicated to the production, post-production and distribution of audiovisual content.
From 2013 he curates a series of productions for Sky Arte including De.sign, now in its third season, and portraits of contemporary art artists.
