CURRENT POSITION:
Adjunct lecturer of the Cinetourism and Territorial Marketing Laboratory course at the Faculty of Arts and Tourism.
A graduate in Art History and Criticism from the State University of Milan, Francesco Clerici has been collaborating since 2009 with the Confédération Internationale des Cinéma d'Art et d'Essai and with the artist Velasco Vitali. He holds the course of Theories and Practices of Art Documentary at the University of Milan, the Laboratory of Cinetourism and Territorial Marketing (L-ART/06) at IULM, the course of History of Cinema at Raffles Milano and collaborates and holds workshops for University of Parma, University Bicocca of Milan, University of Roma Tre.
Since 2018 he has been collaborating with the National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci" documenting intangible heritages.
Il Gesto delle Mani, his first feature-length documentary, was presented at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival in the FORUM section, where it won the FIPRESCI International Critics Award.
LINES OF RESEARCH:
His works, which include augmented reality works, short films, web series, books, experimental films, and documentaries, have been presented at festivals around the world (London Film Festival, Viennale, RIDM Montreal, Dok.fest, Leipzig, Berlinale, Sarajevo film festival, Busan international short film festival, and many others), and in venues such as National Gallery of Art in Washington, British Film Institute in London, Irish Film Institute in Dublin, Cineteca Mexicana in Mexico City, Moscow Documentary Film Center, Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, Barbican, MART in Rovereto, Dundee Contemporary art center, MAXXI in Rome, Palazzo Reale in Milan.
In 2018, the Grenoble film library dedicated a retrospective to his work.
