During the first semester of the academic year 2018-19 receptions will be held on October 12 and November 13 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. The teacher is also available to receive students by appointment to be agreed by e-mail.
Laye CAMARA, PhD, geographer, is a specialist in development and sustainability. International consultant for cooperation projects (European Union, FAO, World Bank). Researcher at the IULM University of Milan where he teaches "Training and management of territorial values", he is currently responsible for the research "African migration seen by Africans: discursive practices and construction of the imaginary" funded by the IULM University and carried out in collaboration with African and Italian Universities.
He has carried out numerous research and project management activities in Africa including:
2007-2016 Technical Project Manager for the World Bank with the task of designing and implementing the activities of the "Projet de Gestion Communautaire des Terres (PGCT)" and the "Projet de Gestion Côtière et Marine de la Biodiversité (PGCMB)";
2012 Researcher: participation in the international conference on "International Tourism Cooperation: narratives, policies, territories" organized by the IULM University of Milan with a communication to the round table chaired by Prof. Angelo Turco;
2012 Scientific expert (CIRAD/ ECOPAS Burkina): research and synthesis of the scientific works carried out by the group of juniors researchers.
2005 Consultant/Researcher (FAO-Angola): identify actors and assess their possibilities for negotiation in the prevention and management of land conflicts in Angola.
2004 -2005 National Expert/Researcher (EU-GUINEA): identifying practices for the use and management of natural resources and ways of occupying space in the local communities of the Upper Niger National Park in Guinea
2004 Consultant/Researcher (CIRAD-Aquila University): Study of the dynamics of actors and conflicts (actors, institutions, causes and forms of conflict management) in the peripheral areas of the W Regional Park in Burkina-Niger-Benin.
2003 University researcher (University of L'Aquila): Study of Afro-Brazilian territoriality and analysis of their contribution to the process of spatial remodeling and the construction of the socio-cultural identity of modern Brazil
2003 University researcher (Universidade Federale de Minas Gerais): Participation in the international seminar "Africa e diaspora africana no Bresil" with a speech entitled "Territorial Symbolism and African Identity".
