CURRENT POSITION:
Valeria Pecorelli, PhD is a researcher (RTDa) of Geography at the Faculty of Arts Tourism where she lectures Creativity and design of tourism policies and services in the Master Degree course in Hospitality and Tourism Management and the teaching of Representations, landscape and tourism in the Bachelor Degree course in Tourism, management and territory.
She is a member of the A.Ge.I. national research group "Geography of Gender".
RESEARCH LINE :
Her research areas focus on theoretical and methodological aspects of cultural geography and critical geography of tourism. In particular: practices and discourses of sustainability and local development, heritage and participatory tourism, urban tourism and social conflicts, island and mountain tourism. The results of these research areas have been presented at various national and international conferences and published in journals and books.
She participates in the following departmental projects: Urban spaces and hyper tourism: political practices and conflicts. The mountain "fragile territory" between luxury imagery and overtourism. Analysis and proposals for sustainable practices towards Milan-Cortina 2026.
