CURRENT POSITION
Florjer Gjepali is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Aesthetics at IULM University, where he holds the Aesthetics of Luxury course in the Fashion Communication and Luxury Strategies master's degree program. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Universität zu Köln in Germany, and is an adjunct lecturer at the Politecnico di Milano.
After graduating in Philosophy from the University of Milan, he received his PhD in Visual and Media Studies from IULM University. At the same University he was first a research fellow and later obtained a research contract funded under the PNRR, with the project Aesthetics and Robotics. Sensitivity, perception and imagination in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI).
Her research activity is in the field of aesthetics and focuses on phenomenological aesthetics, theories of representation and image, landscape aesthetics, and aesthetic categories, with particular reference to beauty and luxury. In parallel, he investigates the relationship between aesthetics and epistemology of complex systems, in relation to artificial intelligence systems and social robotics. In this context, also as a member of CRiSiCo, Center for Research on Complex Systems at IULM University, he analyzes the aesthetic models that inform the development of emerging technologies and their implications on the perceptual and representational level, questioning how they reconfigure the forms of aesthetic sensibility and experience
