CURRENT POSITION:
Renato Boccali graduated in Philosophy of History at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Perugia with a dissertation on the problem of evil and time in Paul Ricoeur in 2000. He obtained a Master's Degree in Translation of Literary Texts for Publishing from the Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori San Pellegrino, Misano Adriatico (RM) in 2001.
After several stays in France, where, in the 2002-2003 academic year, he attended the DEA "Imaginaire et rationalité" at the Centre Gaston Bachelard de recherches sur l'imaginaire et la rationalité - Université de Bourgogne, he obtained the title of PhD in Philosophy and Humanities discussing a thesis on the rehabilitation of sensitivity in the thought of Maurice Merleau-Ponty in Perugia. From 2003 to 2005, he held a scholarship for teaching and research training and,, from 2005 to 2008, a post-doctorate fellowship related to the Chair of Analysis of artistic movements (Aesthetics) at IULM University.
In 2008, he became Lecturer in Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature at IULM University and, in 2011, he received a tenured position. In 2014, he switched to Aesthetics, where he currently serves as Senior Lecturer. He has collaborated in the design and realization of the UNESCO Chair in "Cultural and Comparative Studies on the Imaginary", active from 2006 to 2018 at the IULM University, of which he was coordinator alongside the project leader, Prof. Paolo Proietti.
He has been visiting professor at the Université Catholique de Lille and the Universidad Nacional de las Artes of Buenos Aires, visiting scholar at the Instituto de Estudios Avanzados (IDEA) of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. He has also participated in international conferences in France, Belgium, England, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, Tunisia, Brazil.
