CURRENT POSITION:

Renato Boccali is a Full Professor of Aesthetics (PHIL-04/A).

He graduated in 2000 with a degree in Philosophy of History from the University of Perugia and, in 2006, earned a PhD in "Philosophy and Human Sciences" from the same university. From 2006 to 2008, he held a postdoctoral research fellowship at IULM University.

In 2008, he won a national competition for the position of University Researcher in Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature, later moving in 2014 to the academic field of Aesthetics. From 2020 to 2026, he served as Associate Professor of Aesthetics.

He contributed to the design and development of the UNESCO Chair in "Cultural and Comparative Studies on the Imaginary", active at IULM University from 2006 to 2018, where he served as coordinator alongside project leader Prof. Paolo Proietti.

Since 2014, he has been co-editor, with Silvano Facioni, of the book series "Macula – Phenomenology, Hermeneutics, Deconstruction" (Mimesis Edizioni). Since 2019, he has also been co-editor, with J.J. Wunenburger, of the international journal "Bachelard Studies / Études Bachelardiennes / Studi Bachelardiani". In addition, he serves on the scientific boards of several academic journals and book series.

He has been a Visiting Professor at the Université Catholique de Lille and the Universidad Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires, as well as a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IDEA) of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile.

He has presented papers at numerous international conferences and seminars in France, Belgium, England, Latvia, Germany, Morocco, Mexico, Switzerland, Romania, Spain, Tunisia, and Brazil.
