CURRENT POSITION
Valentina Baselli holds the contract for official course "Technological and Artificial Intelligence Tools for Interpreting" and "Computer Lab for Terminology Research" (Master's Degree in Translation, Interpreting and Digital Communication - Curriculum: Conference Interpreting and New Technologies).
She is a conference interpreter, translator and member of AITI (Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters). In addition, since 2010 she has been teaching simultaneous, consecutive, dialogic mediation and English version interpreting, as well as Theory and Practice of Conference Interpreting at SSML Istituto di Alti Studi Carlo Bo in Milan. He is a lecturer and referee of the Simultaneous Remote Interpreting module through Converso platform at the Master of Translation, Interpreting and Digital Communication - Conference Interpreting and New Technologies curriculum.
After earning a Master's Degree in Specialist Translation and Conference Interpreting and a Teaching and Research Training Fellowship at IULM University, she was a teaching assistant and culturer of the courses "Computer Tools for Translation and Interpreting," "Theory and Practice of Language Mediation" (three-year degree course Translation, Interpreting and Digital Communication), for which she conducts teaching seminars every year, and "Editorial Translation: fiction and Non-Fiction - English" of the master's degree course in Translation, Interpreting and Digital Communication.
She has participated in various research projects and is an active member of the research center team "International Center for Research on Collaborative Translation" (IULM). She is a member of AIA (Italian Association of Anglistics).
LINES OF RESEARCH
Her research lines focus on the following topics: new technologies in interpreting, CAI Tool and application of AI to interpreting, remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI), Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, cognitive studies in interpreting, English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) and English for Special Purposes (ESP).
