COURSE STRUCTURE:

1. ONLINE INTRODUCTORY COURSES

Two months of e-learning are designed to provide students, regardless of their previous studies, with essential knowledge and skills required for the academic courses.

2. FUNDAMENTALS
Academic courses focus on:

  • Place Image, Identity and Brand
  • Hospitality Management
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology and Tourism
  • Digital Marketing
  • Financial Analysis of Tourism Enterprises

Company visits and meetings with leaders in the tourism sector complete the MITH hands-on approach, giving insights into best practices and cutting-edge management tools.

3. SPECIALIZATIONS

Students can choose to focus on one of the following “hot topics” in tourism and apply what they learned in Fundamentals to specific professional areas:

  • Luxury Brand Management
  • Revenue Management
  • Cruise Management

Alternatively, they can choose an independent project supervised by a senior consultant, to carry out research, apply what they have learned and generate proposals for implementation.
Upon completion of the Specialization, students will earn a Graduate Certificate from the IULM.

4. SEMINARS

In recent years, digital technologies have changed the competitive scenario in tourism and hospitality. Insight into the dynamics and innovations of the digital world is now an essential condition for effective management and business success.

MITH offers a series of seminars on digital innovation for travel sector competitiveness where international researchers and leading companies will discuss the digital revolution in the world of travel.

CHIA Certification

The Hospitality Management module includes training sessions to earn the Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA). CHIA is the only hotel-related certification for industry professionals focused on analytics.

Offered by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and STR, CHIA attests a thorough knowledge of the foundational metrics, definitions, formulas, and methodologies used by the hotel industry.

Core content includes:

  • Hotel Industry Analytical Foundations
  • Hotel Math Fundamentals
  • Property Level Benchmarking (STAR Reports)
  • Hotel Industry Performance Reports
