Orality in poetry, in music, in performance
Year 2019
Following the completion of work begun in 2017, an international study conference was held at IULM University in May 2019 on the subject of "Oral Art. Poetry, music, performance". The conference lasted three days and included, in addition to the scientific sessions, evening performance sessions. Coordinated by the three organizers Stefano Lombardi Vallauri, Paolo Giovannetti, Lorenzo Cardilli and Marida Rizzuti, taking part in the scientific sessions were Alessandro Bratus, Dome Bulfaro, Fabio Cifariello Ciardi, Jonathan Culler, Umberto Fiori, Giovanni Fontana, Valentina Garavaglia, Michela Garda, Stefano Ghidinelli, Paolo Giovannetti, Hyst, Stefano Lombardi Vallauri, Rosaria Lo Russo, Alessandro Mistrorigo, Mario Gerolamo Mossa, Mauro Petruzziello, Enrico Pitozzi, Marida Rizzuti, Giovanna Rocca, Nicola Scaldaferri, Enrico Testa, Martina Treu, Fabio Vittorini, Lello Voce, Theda Weber-Lucks, Fabian Wolbring, Edoardo Zuccato and Luca Zuliani. The performance sessions saw the participation of Alessandro Burbank, Francesco Casciaro, Fabio Cifariello Ciardi, Matteo Di Genova, Giovanni Fontana, Eugenia Galli, Eugenia Giancaspro, Hyst, Rosaria Lo Russo, Michele Milani, Davide Passoni, Francesca Pels, Michele Marco Rossi, Giacomo Sandron and Lello Voce. The conference addressed from many perspectives the transversal theme of orality in its artistic manifestations, especially in different poetic and musical genres and in their numerous intersections and conjunctions with other arts (theatre, musical, performance art, etc..)
The publication of the proceedings of the conference, which in addition to academic contributions will also include speeches by performers, is scheduled for the year 2020.
