If on a winter's night a traveller: forty years later

The main objective of the project is to investigate, forty years after the first publication, Se una notte d'inverno un viaggiatore, by Italo Calvino. Although it has now become part of the contemporary literary canon, which is not only Italian, this novel still offers several aspects that can be more closely studied, also in the light of new methodologies and approaches, and of the international debate that has developed around the text. In particular, it is a question of verifying whether this work, exemplary of a certain Italian post-modernism, has gone through an aging process or, on the contrary, has risen to the status of undisputed classic.
