Fees, contributions and  financial aid

Evaluation criteria and allocation in the contribution bands for foreign students and Italians residing abroad.

International students pay a flat tuition fee corresponding to the maximum band provided for in the Regulations for fees and contributions.

International students refer to “students of Italian or foreign nationality, residing in the European Union and in non-EU countries, whose family unit resides abroad where it produces income and assets, who enroll for the first time or renew their enrolment in the 2nd year of an undergraduate programme or of a 2-year Master's degree course in the academic year 2024/2025”.

An exception is made for students from particularly poor countries (specified by decree no. 115/2023 of the Ministry for Education, University and Scientific Research in agreement with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs), for whom the single contribution band corresponds to the first band provided for in the Regulation on fees and contributions for the academic year 2024/2025.

Financial aid

Università IULM offers the most deserving students a 50% reduction on the tuition fee:

• partial exemption of 50% on the tuition fee for the first year of the course for the first 35 (full-time) students enrolled in a 3-year degree course in the academic year 2024-2025.
  Eligible candidates are those who have obtained an admission qualification abroad with a mark equivalent to at least 80/100, calculated on the basis of the formula provided by the Ministry of University and Research.

• partial exemption of 50% of the tuition fee for the first year of the course for the first 25 (full-time) students enrolled in a 2-year Master's degree course in the academic year 2023/2024.
  Eligible candidates are those who have obtained an admission qualification abroad with a mark equivalent to at least 90/110.

Up to 100% reduction on the tuition fee (opportunity for the 20 most deserving students):

• Only for degree courses in Arti ed eventi culturali; Turismo, management e cultura; Interpretariato e comunicazione; Lingue, cultura e comunicazione digitale and Master's degree courses in Arte, valorizzazione e mercato; Intelligenza artificiale, impresa e società; Hospitality and Tourism Management, Traduzione specialistica e interpretariato di conferenza and for the newly activated Bachelor's and Master's degree courses, 20 total exemptions are assigned for full-time enrolment in the academic year 2024/2025, which can be modulated into a higher number of partial exemptions, subject to evaluation of the admission qualifications obtained abroad and additional elements of merit, including the outcome of the admission test. In particular, enrolling students should have obtained foreign admission certification with a grade equivalent or superior to 90/100 for Degree Courses and 99/110 for Master’s Degree Courses, as calculated with the Ministry of University and Research formula.

DSU Regional Scholarships

Any students (regardless of nationality and country of residence) can apply for regional scholarships.

Eligible students can benefit from:

• tuition refund (PLEASE NOTE: DSU awardees must pay the full tuition for the entire first year anyway)
• a grant with a maximum value of approx. € 6800,  paid in two instalments
• free access to the university canteen

Eligibility is determined on the basis of merit and the family's economic situation. Full details can be found in the Competition Notice for the allocation of Regional Scholarships.

Accommodation

To partly meet accommodation requests, 10 beds shall be reserved for international students in IULM's Residence Halls at € 450/month.
 Places will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 10 applicants who have completed their enrolment by paying the first instalment.
