Workshop “Islamic European Finance – European Islamic Finance: From a Corpus of Financial Arabic to an Inclusive Economy Startup”
Codice progetto 20204EJYRX_003 - CUP H43C2200035000
Funded by the PRIN 2020 of the Ministry of University and Research (MUR)
This workshop addresses the theoretical and applied dimensions of Islamic finance within European regulatory and socio-economic contexts. Drawing on the linguistic and conceptual analysis of a specialized corpus of financial Arabic, the project explores the formalization of Sharia-compliant financial norms into structured, machine-readable frameworks. The objective is to establish a methodological bridge between philological research, legal-economic analysis, and technological innovation, thereby contributing to the development of inclusive financial ecosystems.
The resulting startup will offer academics and Islamic finance practitioners a systematized body of formalized Islamic financial rules, designed to facilitate compliance verification through RegTech and FinTech applications. In the long term, the initiative aims to generate a measurable social impact by enhancing the economic and cultural inclusion of Arabic-speaking communities, while fostering structured dialogue with and within Arabic-speaking minorities in Italy.
